Following agreement with Capita, underwriting services previously provided by Capita will transfer to Scottish Provident, resulting in the addition of about 80 underwriters for the Glasgow-based protection insurer. The transfer completed on 1 February and took place under TUPE Regulations in consultation with the Unite union.
Gordon Watson, Operations Director, Scottish Provident, commented:
"We're delighted to considerably strengthen our underwriting proposition. The transfer of underwriting services forms part of the ongoing development of our protection offering and our business objectives for 2010. The transfer will allow us to continue to pursue the delivery of a first class protection proposition for Scottish Provident."
