The Principles and Practices of Financial Management
Introduction
All companies who offer – or who have offered – with profits investments publish a document called the Principles and Practices of Financial Management (PPFM) which sets out the way in which they manage the with profits fund.
PPFMs are extremely comprehensive as they are designed to provide the necessary information for expert commentators and the FSA to appraise the management of a with profits fund.
For policyholders and the general reader we have a series of guides to the management of our with profits funds. Each guide is in plain English and explains the most important elements of the PPFM in non-technical terms. As we have a wide range of different with profits policies each of the guides covers the management of a particular group of with profits policies.
We will send you an updated version of the guide with a future statement if we make any significant changes.
Each year, normally in June, we publish an annual report to with profits policyholders describing how we have complied with the principles and practices detailed in our published PPFMs.
