New appointments for RLAM’s Fixed Interest and Quant teams

Tuesday, 5 August 2008

Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) is delighted to announce the appointment of two new recruits to its Fixed Interest and Quant teams.

Shalin Shah has been recruited to the role of Quant and Fixed Interest Specialist, reporting directly to Jonathan Platt, RLAM's Head of Fixed Interest.

Shalin will play an essential role within the team, providing support to fund managers and assisting with communications to clients. He will also use his extensive actuarial experience to provide quantitative and analytical support to RLAM's Derivatives and Quant team. Prior to joining RLAM, Shalin worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP for five and a half years where he was involved in advising clients on a variety of investment solutions, including LDI (Liability Driven Investment) and strategic asset allocation.

Terence Nahar has joined RLAM as Interest Rate Derivatives Manager, reporting to Head of Derivatives and Quant, Stephen Booth. Terence will focus on LDI strategies and derivatives usage within RLAM's wider fixed interest portfolios. He joins RLAM from Goldman Sachs where he was part of the Pension and Insurance team, focusing on LDI and Asset and Liability Modelling.

As a further boost to RLAM's quantitative capability, Zilla Ford, Quantitative Techniques Manager, has qualified as an Actuary, building the expertise within the Derivatives and Quant team as RLAM develops its LDI offering.

Robert Talbut, Chief Investment Officer, comments:

"We are delighted that Shalin and Terence have joined us to further strengthen our Fixed Interest and Derivative and Quant teams. Their experience will be a great asset as we continue to expand our bond and LDI capabilities in response to strong client demand."
