This year sees the centenary of the most famous event in the motorcycle road-racing calendar the Isle of Man TT Races. The course itself is nearly 40 miles long and the races will be run over 6 laps; a true test of endurance for both the riders and the machines.
Scottish Life International is pleased to announce that it is sponsoring Team Klaffi Honda, the world Superbike and Sidecar team. Klaffi Honda will be represented in the Superbike, Supersport and Superstock classes, with Irish Senior Road Race Champion Martin Finnegan. Team principal Klaus Klaffenbock and his passenger Christian Parzer will be looking to take the honours in the Sidecar races.
An anticipated 50,000 visitors are expected on the island during the event. Scottish Life International Executive Director Mike Crellin, an avid supporter of the races, will actually also be competing himself for the VRS racing team.
Mike said, "The event has moved on quite a bit since its early days after speed limits in Britain forced the Auto Cycle Club to look elsewhere for free roads to race on and turned to the Isle of Man."
"We wish Klaus, Christian and Martin the best of luck in their races and hope to see them on the podium this year. For me, I just hope to finish in a respectable position a little further down the field!"
The TT Centenary Road Races start on Saturday 2 June and culminate in the Parade of Champions on Friday 8 June and is sure to be an unmissable event.
