Bright Grey Scores a First Thanks to Medicals Direct’s Trackberry

Bright Grey, the protection specialist arm of Royal London Group, has become the first protection provider to harness the full potential of Medicals Direct's new Trackberry service. By linking it up with a secure transfer system, Bright Grey has shaved three days off the turn around time for medical reports. This will help speed up the underwriting process for those with more complex medical histories.
The Trackberry system was introduced last year by Medicals Direct and is operated by their nurses. When they are carrying out a medical examination, they now complete specially designed Anoto-enabled medical reports with a digital pen. This scans the report as it is being written with the client present, and sends the information via Bluetooth to a Blackberry and straight onto Medicals Direct's systems. A return email is then sent immediately to the nurse, with any queries raised. And this enables the nurse to correct any omissions while they are still with the client.
Bright Grey has taken this a step further, enabling straight-through electronic processing. The completed electronic form is now sent online to a secure folder at Bright Grey, rather than being printed out and delivered by post.
