Bright Grey Expands Sales Team

Thursday, 25 January 2007

Bright Grey, the protection specialist arm of the Royal London Group, is expanding its sales team in line with ambitious growth plans for 2007. Four new sales consultants have just joined its face-to-face team.

• Jeff Nail has been appointed Partnership Manager to cover specialist protection brokers  in North and West London areas. Jeff has some 26 years of experience in the industry and immediately prior to joining Bright Grey was with Scottish Life.

• Simon Matthews has also been appointed Partnership Manager to cover specialist protection brokers in Leeds, North Sheffield and the North East of England. He has many years of experience in the industry and has joined from Abbey Group.

• A third Partnership Manager, Chris Atkinson, has been appointed to cover specialist protection brokers in the Thames Valley region to the South coast. He has joined from BUPA where he was a National Account Manager.

• Finally, Heather McCormick joins as a Partnership Consultant from Bright Grey's desk-based sales unit. Heather has been with Bright Grey for three years.

This brings the size of the face-to-face team to 13 in total, in addition to Bright Grey's desk-based sales unit – Bright Connections – which is 13 strong too.

Bright Grey also announces that following a very successful pilot last year, Scottish Life's desk-based Account Managed Unit (AMU) is starting to distribute Bright Grey's protection proposition. They will focus on non-protection specialists – advisers who have previously had little awareness of the Bright Grey proposition.

Andy Peters, Distribution Director, says: "Bright Grey is continuing to grow good profitable sales and we are very ambitious to get bigger. We've almost doubled our face-to-face sales force over the last 12 months – there's been a huge appetite from advisers who want to speak to us, and we've been pleased to respond to this. We've already managed to get footholds on several key account panels and we want to keep the momentum going and continue our good progress. We're also really pleased to be capitalising on the sales expertise and adviser relationships across the new Royal London Intermediary Division, and we're confident that the Scottish Life AMU will contribute well to our growth plans.

"The protection market has not got any easier over the past 12 months, but we have a strong service and product proposition, and the right people on board to continue our growth success. I'm confident we'll achieve our ambition."
