Introduction to CSR

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is about us integrating socially responsible behaviour into our core values and contributing to sustainable development goals.

Our corporate Social responsibility programme follows the Business in the Community model of environment, workplace, community and marketplace.

From research, the common principles of responsible business practice are:

  • To treat employees fairly and equitably
  • To operate ethically and with integrity
  • To respect basic human rights
  • To sustain the environment for future generations
  • To be a caring neighbour in local communities
  • To have the appropriate structure and policies in place to interact responsibly with stakeholders
  • To monitor, evaluate and report the company's level of responsibility.

Royal London has a Corporate Responsibility Committee which meets once a quarter. Its role is to investigate, report, champion and encourage CSR initiatives across the group.

We have a long history of serving the community, regularly contributing to many charities and worthwhile organisations. We continue this tradition of giving something back to the local communities in which we operate.

Our community involvement policy includes an employee volunteering scheme, a national charity, a matched donation scheme and staff dress down days which take place across the Group in aid of charity.
